Sam Rubin Jr., the former owner of R&A Jewelers in Monroe, La., died on July 22 at the age of 86.
After returning for World War II, Rubin joined his father at R&A Jewelers. Although he closed the store in 2005, he continued to work as a personal jeweler until his death.
Rubin’s many career accomplishments included winning the Kitty DeGree Lifetime Achievement in Business Award in 2005.
He is survived by two sons, Dr. Mark Rubin and Barry Rubin, and a daughter, Lori Spires.
