Each year during the Cannes International Film Festival—which
Chopard sponsors—the jeweler unveils a new Red Carpet jewelry collection. This
year, in honor of the Festival’s 64th anniversary, Chopard created
64 pieces of high jewelry, designed by Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, co-president
and artistic director, and inspired by the beauty of the celebrities who wore
items during the ‘Mounting of the Steps’ on the red carpet ritual.
The jewelry itself is an “ode to the beginnings of
springtime,” according to Chopard. To that end, vibrant colors—including the rich greens of peridot,
tsavorite, and emerald, pinky-red rubellite tourmaline, and majestic purple amethyst—are widely used, and
mixed with diamonds.
