Jewelry newcomer Rebekah Lea of Rebekah Lea Designs offers a number of memorable looks (animal skull castings, anyone?), but one definite standout is her Galaxy diamond ring.
It’s part of her Stonality collection, where each piece represents the “designer’s interpretation of a color kaleidoscope,” featuring mixes of colors, shapes, and cuts, and this style, in particular, is really a lovely composition: a cognac oval cut flanked by two champagne round brilliants, which are enveloped by a marquis-shape continuation of metal dotted with colorless melee and two pale olive green rocks at the North and South positions.
For further interest and ornamentation, Lea affixed colorless trillions at opposite ends of the eye-shaped ensemble, and a half-round bypass shank steadies the entire arrangement for maximum wearer enjoyment and visibility to passersby. The negative space in the center construction helps keep the weight down, and gives the multitude of rocks some room to breathe. It’s a beaut if I’ve ever seen one! And the price in 14k gold makes it a steal; it retails for $6,400.
