Rapaport Diamond Corporation (RDC), the auction and trading division of the Rapaport Group, has appointed David Lee chief executive officer.
Lee previously worked for Sotheby’s, StockX, and Eleven James, according to LinkedIn.
RDC also has named Michelle Ickowics, who’s worked at Rapaport since 2010, as chief operating officer.
“We anticipate increased opportunity in the jewelry trade as elderly consumers sell their jewelry,” said company founder Martin Rapaport, chairman of the Rapaport Group.
RDC claims to be the world’s largest recycler of diamonds, with auction sales of over 400,000 carats per year. The Rapaport Price List, RapNet, and Rapaport’s information services will continue to be owned and operated by Rapaport USA, a separate company headquartered in Las Vegas.
