QVC Group announced it is eliminating 900 positions—about 5% of its workforce—across its QVC, HSN, and global shared services divisions.
“We made the very difficult decision to eliminate a number of roles,” said a company statement issued March 27. “For many of these individuals, today will be their last day with QVC Group. Some will continue working with us for several months, mainly to support the transition of the HSN broadcast and the St. Petersburg campus.
“We are committed to supporting impacted team members through this transition with separation benefits and outplacement services,” it added. “Our immediate focus is supporting those directly affected by these changes.”
The layoffs are among several changes at QVC Group, formerly known as Qurate Retail. In January, it announced it was shutting the St. Petersburg, Fla., campus where HSN has been based for four decades, as QVC combines the two shopping channels’ operations, seven years after they merged. Earlier this month, QVC Group appointed Alex Wellen president and chief growth officer.
This isn’t the first time QVC has reduced its workforce head count in recent years: In 2023, it laid off 400 people.
The company had approximately 17,000 employees at the end of 2024, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
