Pinterest Predicts 2025’s Breakout Trends

Share

Pinterest has released its annual Pinterest Predicts report, using search data from September 2022 to August 2024 to forecast the biggest trends of 2025. According to Pinterest, 2025 is shaping up to be a very colorful and quirky year indeed—and we’re here for that.

Pantone may want to swath you in brown, choosing Mocha Mousse as its 2025 Color of the Year, but Pinterest is predicting cherries will be all the rage. The app saw a surge in searches for such terms as cherry vibe, cherry car, and cherry martini, and says to expect cherry-infused cocktails, desserts, and fashions. Hey, cherries look pretty good in jewelry, don’t they?

Popular aesthetics identified by Pinterest for the coming year include rococo revival, moto boho, and castlecore. With rococo revival, the platform is predicting elements of the opulent, ultrafeminine Baroque period to be hot: corset gowns, ornate styles, luxurious accessories, and more. Jewelry has a major part to play here, for sure.

Where moto boho is concerned (moto comes from motorcycle), Pinterest saw increases in search terms like edgy boho outfits, lace skirt outfits, and moto boots outfit. The kind of jewelry consumers are looking to sport with these ensembles is still to be determined, but if you’re feeling creative, why not style some of your own on social?

Castlecore takes inspiration from medieval castles, with increased searches for antique ruby ring and chainmail necklace coming through for jewelry, among other trending terms like blue medieval dress and castle house plans.

Maximalism is also thought to be big come 2025, and mixing and matching along with it. Eclectic maximalism and vintage maximalism were key terms, with Pinners looking to layer their fashions—the more they can pile on, the better. Jewelry, both modern and vintage, is perfect for this.

Another notable aesthetic Pinterest has eyed for 2025 is fisherman, in the form of cable knit sweaters, raincoat outfits, and sardine tattoos (yes, really!). This one especially, jewelry can work with—there is much to be loved in terms of sea-inspired pieces. And we’re already stocking up on our fisherman sandals for summer.

These trending aesthetics cited by Pinterest should be taken seriously, as the app has previously noted significant trends like dopamine dressing and cottagecore. For beauty, fashion, home decorating, travel, and entertainment, Pinterest Predicts has been relatively accurate in the past, whether as a self-fulfilling prophecy or spot-on data utilization (or both).
