Longtime bridal jewelry designer Phyllis Bergman of Mercury Ring Corp., a division of InterJewel USA, is unveiling her first book at JCK Las Vegas. The work is entitled Married Fifty Years and Still Dating—A Guide to a Platinum Relationship and draws from her own personal experiences to reveal inspiration behind her bridal-jewelry designs as well as wisdom gained firsthand from 50 years of marriage to husband Ira.

“For years, people kept telling me I should write a book about what it takes to have the wonderful relationship that Ira and I have,” Bergman told the media this week.

Bergman combined her favorite bridal-jewelry metal—platinum—with the important relationship messages she aims to relay to readers in the book title. “It really isn’t rocket science but rather a commitment to wanting to make it work and figuring out how to enjoy the journey along the way,” she says. “I thought why not combine the two areas I devote most of my time to—my business and my family. What fun it would be if my book was carried in all jewelry stores!”
