What good is autumn—and Halloween—without a viewing (or multiple viewings) of Charlie Brown’s holiday special? It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is positively a must in our home, signifying that the time for festivities has begun.
The Peanuts gang gets their costume on, Charlie Brown gets a bag full of rocks, and all the while, the television screen is dominated by one very festive color: orange.
No doubt about it, orange is the color of autumn. It’s in the changing leaves, the seasonal squash displays bursting from the grocery stores, the decorations composed of jack-o’-lanterns and candy corn. If you can’t stand the sight of orange, well, this isn’t the season for you.
If you subscribe to the bible that is the Pantone Fashion Color Trend Report, though, it looks like orange will be sticking around a lot longer than fall, if only in variation. One look at the Spring/Summer 2019 report shows no less than four orangey hues: the red-orange Fiesta; the bright and lively Turmeric; the soft, tropical Living Coral; and the juicy Mango Mojito. The writing’s on the Pantone-painted walls, folks: Orange is legit this year.
Luckily for the jewelry trade, there’s no shortage of good-looking orange gemstones to get our color fix. The pumpkin-like shades give way to fierce, fiery ones, while cooler corals and sherbet pastels round out the mix. Get those orange showcases ready: These are the jewels to consider.
