NYC Jewelry & Object Show Adds Antiques to the Mix

Share

The NYC Jewelry & Object Show is returning in April with a new name and an exclusive dealer preview, making this third edition the largest and most exciting to date, says founder Konstantinos I. Leoussis.

Leoussis, a vintage jewelry specialist who created KIL Promotions to host the event, says a “treasure hunt mentality” among consumers has him adding antiques to what’s now known as the NYC Jewelry, Antique & Object Show (NYC JAOS).

He says more than 100 antiques galleries, jewelry designers, and luxury vendors are signed up for the show, which will run from April 5 to 7 at the Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 W. 18th St., in Chelsea. This will be the second year the show is held in the spring; the initial event took place in November 2023.

With the luxury thrifting trend that’s become popular among Gen Z and millennial consumers, antiques are a smart addition and should bring in more audience for all vendors, Leoussis says. Consumers can purchase tickets to attend NYC JAOS here.

“Putting on a show like this is such a labor of love,” says Leoussis. “Our first show was a learning experience. We put it together and said, ‘Let’s see what happens.’ We’ve grown every show since then. Now we’re in a bigger pavilion, and we’re almost sold out.”

Rebranding a relatively new event was a risk, but Leoussis says he received a lot of positive feedback on it from participants. A bigger change, according to Leoussis, is the new dealer preview (on April 4). Adding a time when dealers can mix, mingle, and talk business without customers around is a great opportunity for vendors to bond and have even more fun during an already relaxed and intimate show, he says.

“We want this to be a community for the dealers,” says Leoussis. “We got feedback from previous events that they wanted more experiences that made sense and are cohesive with the upbeat and friendly mood we’ve created. We’ve also brought in more food options, lounge areas, and a wine bar so people can sit together.”

Leoussis himself is a retailer of antique and antique-inspired jewelry, through his company KIL N.Y.C. He started KIL Promotions in early 2023 to create direct-to-consumer jewelry-related shopping opportunities, like JAOS, in the New York City area—bringing vendors from around the world together under one roof and offering dealers and retailers an accessible, cost-effective event.

Vendors at April’s JAOS will include Alpha Omega Jewelry, Antique Reflections, Courtville Antiques, Halle’s Jewels, Jewels by Grace, Keyamour, Lowther Antiques, Olivia Boutique, Sandy Jacobs Antiques, the Vintage Jeweller, Wilson Estate Jewelry, and many more.

“In a sense, we are creating a contemporary treasure hunt for our guests, helping them discover timeless pieces, both new and estate, each with a distinctive backstory,” Leoussis says. “I love to see how the show is continuing to evolve, and we’re adding more and more as we go on.”
