Minneapolis retailer J.B. Hudson Jewelers has been purchased by the Pohlad family and J.B. Hudson president Jeannie Joas.
The Pohlad family purchased a majority interest in the company from the J.R. Cargill Family. Carl Pohlad will serve as board chairman and Joas will continue her 15 years of leadership as president and chief executive officer.
“We are very excited about the Pohlad family’s involvement,” Joas said. “The Pohlads have been friends and clients for many years and we look forward to the opportunities this partnership creates.”
Carl Pohlad added, “We are pleased to be a part of a Twin Cities institution like Hudson’s and to work with Jeannie Joas. Jeannie’s knowledge and passion for the business helped make Hudson’s the brand it is today and we look forward to continuing that success.”
The 122-year-old company has two locations in the Twin Cities metro area: the flagship store on Nicollet Mall and another location in Ridgedale in Minnetonka.
