At JCK LUXURY this year, it was hard to miss the stunning Windex-blue Paraiba gemstone styles prettying up the cases at Simon G. The Glendale, Calif.–based firm has offered Brazilian Paraiba gemstone jewelry since 2004 but unveiled its most abundant offerings to date this year.
A total of 50 SKUs comprise the Paraiba collection, 25 of which were added this year. Pieces are available in 18k white gold and in platinum, and retail prices start at $5,500 for a semi-opaque Paraiba-in-matrix slice pendant necklace. Colorless diamonds offset most styles, but expect to see the occasional pink or yellow diamond or sapphire.
As for the designs of the jewelry, founder Simon Ghanimian lets nature motifs like flowers tell the bulk of the Paraiba story.
“The color of Paraiba is so saturated it almost seems unreal, and we love the juxtaposition of that with detailed natural designs,” he explained to JCK.
Orders from the show are being filled now. No buy-in exists specifically for the Paraiba collection; any Simon G. retailer is welcome to purchase as little as one style.
