Dusan Simic and Branko Deljanin have released the third edition of Laboratory-Grown Diamonds: Information Guide to HPHT-Grown and CVD-Grown Diamonds, their 188-page book billed as “the bible” on the latest research on the topic.
The book is a follow-up to the book’s second edition, released in 2007, which has sold more than 3,000 copies worldwide. This new edition includes eight new articles, comprising approximately 100 pages of new material. It can be ordered here.
The book is compiled by veteran diamond researchers Simic, research gemologist of AG&J in New York City, and Deljanin, the president and head gemologist at CGL Canadian Gemlab and director of Gemmological Research Industries Canada.
There are also contributions from Boris Feigelson, a research scientist with the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory; Sharrie Woodring, GCAL’s vice president for product development; Malay Hirani, the CEO of Soni CVD Diamonds; and Frank Ripka, chief technical officer for Algordanza, a Switzerland-based memorial diamonds company.
“This book is unique in our industry,” said the authors in a statement. “To the best of our knowledge, nobody else has written on these subjects.”
The authors are also hosting a series of free webinars in October on the subject of lab-grown diamonds. A list can be seen here.
