Tim Murphy, former publisher of Modern Jeweler, has been
appointed vice president of Trac Tech, a designer of RFID (radio frequency)
inventory tracking system tags, the company announced July 14.
Murphy will drive sales and strategy for Trac Tech, the
company said.
“RFID use is set to explode in the jewelry business,” Murphy
said in a statement. “One of the last high value product industries to adopt
the technology, [jewelry] industry leaders are very quickly realizing the
savings, and more importantly, the ability of RFID to make them more
competitive.”
