Prada Group has appointed Silvia Onofri CEO of Miu Miu, its artsy accessories and jewelry label, effective Feb. 26, the company said.
Onofri began her career at Bulgari, where she served as marketing and product manager, and later corporate trade marketing manager, according to her profile on LinkedIn. She later joined luxury brand Bally, eventually ascending to chief commercial officer for global wholesale. In 2023, she joined VF Corporation as brand president for clothing label Napapijri.
She holds a master’s degree in economics from La Sapienza University in Rome, with postgraduate studies at the London School of Economics and the University of Greenwich.
She succeeds Benedetta Petruzzo, who was appointed managing director of Christian Dior Couture last year.
Miu Miu—which The New York Times called “the prickly little sister brand to Prada”—has been a strong performer in a generally depressed luxury market, with retail sales rising 97% in the first nine months of the year.
The Milan-based brand was founded in 1993 by Miuccia Prada, who remains its creative director; its name comes from her family nickname.
