Daniel Bracken, who’d served as CEO and managing director for Brisbane, Australia–based jeweler Michael Hill since 2018, died unexpectedly on Feb. 25, as the result of an adverse reaction to treatment for an underlying medical condition. He was 57.
No replacement had been announced at press time.
“Daniel was a passionate retailer, an innovative and strategic thinker and an inspiring leader, who transformed the Michael Hill Group into the company that it is today,” said a corporate statement. “We thank Daniel for his outstanding leadership and dedication to the Michael Hill Group and our people over the past seven years.”
Prior to joining Michael Hill, Bracken was CEO of Specialty Fashion Group, an Australian retailer of women’s clothing.
