Miansai, the lifestyle brand best known for its sporty woven-textile-and-metal bracelets, has introduced a men’s fine jewelry line.
The collection of rings, necklaces, and bracelets includes all-gold versions of classic demi-fine Miansai styles. The brand’s popular Screw cuff, for one, now comes in solid 14k gold. And the range introduces precious gemstones—emeralds, rubies, diamonds, and black diamonds—into the brand’s offerings for the first time.
The collection’s core price points hover around $1,200, but tags swing from $450–$2,050. The series debuted last month on Miansai’s e-commerce site and on Mr. Porter.
The 12-year-old brand, which shot to success with its leather and metal wrap bracelets in the aughts, is also known for its experimental retailing.
As I reported in 2017, Miansai has a fleet of vintage vehicles—Airstreams, a Fiat, and cool pickups—that have doubled as chic, little mobile pop-ups since 2012. In 2017, the brand debuted a metallic sky blue 1965 Piaggio pickup truck filled with merchandise at the Tom Bradley International Terminal at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
The introduction of fine men’s jewelry from the brand feels like a natural next step. Miansai’s core clientele likely crosses over with younger luxury watch consumers—who are paying attention to the quality of their fashion’s components more than ever.
