A new poll supports the idea that men’s jewelry is becoming more and more mainstream, with over three-quarters of men polled by Luke Zion Jewelry saying so.
The sterling silver specialist surveyed 1,002 men in the United States ages 18 to 75 (average age was 41) and found that 78% believe men’s jewelry is getting more mainstream and that 40% admire men who wear jewelry.
Some 30% of respondents said they wish they knew how to style jewelry better, and a surprising 43% of Generation Z consumers said they’d like to receive more jewelry as a gift.
As for what they’re looking for, while men overall prefer jewelry considered masculine, Gen Z shoppers are looking for more gender-neutral styles.
The most popular items for men were watches, followed by wedding rings. Those old standbys were followed by chains or necklaces, bracelets, and non-wedding rings. Gold was the most preferred metal for men, followed by silver.
Asked where they shop for jewelry, nearly half of the respondents (48%) said they buy pieces from a major jewelry retailer online, while 35% said they purchase from independent retailers, 27% favor department stores, 22% singled out chain jewelry stores, and 21% said they buy from online independent jewelers.
