Some members of the jewelry industry are adding their sparkle to the City of Light this week, as Melee the Show kicks off today at the Hôtel Mona Bismarck in Paris.
Running from Friday, Sept. 27, through Sunday, Sept. 29, the event marks a return to the European destination for Melee, perfectly timed to coincide with Paris Fashion Week.
Attendees can expect an intimate show—there’s a roster of 11 designers, including Melee’s co-founders Lauren Wolf and Rebecca Overmann—dreamily washed down with a serving of Champagne (would it be Paris without it?).
The event brings together an eclectic array of jewelry design talent, many of whose names a jewelry lover would recognize. Despite this being a European show, a number of U.S.-based creators will be on hand (like Colorado-based Dana Bronfman, Alex Fitz, and Universal Deco, to name a few), and I’m told that a significant number of U.S. buyers have signed up to attend.
“This is my first time doing the Paris event and my first time doing any show internationally,” Bronfman, who has previously showcased at Melee events in New York and Tucson, tells JCK. “I’m looking forward to establishing connections with international buyers and generating more awareness of my brand with the international market that comes to Paris during Fashion Week.”
Whether you’re attending vicariously from home or Euro-bound, here’s a preview of some of the pieces not to miss at Melee the Show in Paris, starting today.
