Mehul Choksi, chairman and director of Gitanjali Group, was awarded the outstanding entrepreneurship award at the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards in New Delhi on Nov. 11.
Choksi won the award based in large part on the Gitanjali Group’s key role in spearheading the modernization and transformation of the traditional gems and jewelry industry in India. He was also recognized for the “innovative and path-breaking” business model that he developed that serves as a role model for others in the field.
The Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards recognize and honor business leaders across different countries in the region. They are organized by Enterprise Asia, a prominent non-governmental organization committed to entrepreneurship development.
