New York City’s newest glittering retail monolith, Hudson Yards, reopened for shopping last week after being closed for months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Among the stores now open for business, there is a brand-new boutique from fine jewelry brand Marli New York. The store, located on Hudson Yards’ ground floor, officially opened Wednesday and is Marli New York’s first-ever retail store in the United States.
The company was founded in 2014 by Maral Artinian, a designer and entrepreneur whose family history in fine jewelry goes back a century (her family owns fine jewelry brand Sartoro). Artinian is also the creative director of Marli, and she and her team operate two Marli-branded boutiques in the Middle East—in Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
The 1,246-square-foot New York flagship borrows the deep teal–and–white marble palette, open floor plan, and counter seating found in the brand’s Middle Eastern shops. Tucked behind the main space is a VIP lounge for private shopping, along with administrative space.
“Our vision for the Marli New York flagship store embodies everything women already love about our brand,” said Artinian in a prepared statement. “The design is bold, modern, and uplifting, and the experience we have created caters to the decisive, confident Marli woman who appreciates thoughtfully curated options for enhancing her distinctive sense of style.”
