Jewelers of America has announced that veteran jewelry writer Marion Fasel will serve as chair of its annual GEM Awards for the next two years.
Fasel is the founder and editorial director of The Adventurine, a jewelry-focused website. She has written 10 books on jewelry design, including B Is for Bvlgari: Celebrating 50 Years in America; Bejeweled: Great Designers, Celebrity Style; and Hollywood Jewels: Movies, Jewelry, Stars. In 2021, she was guest curator for the exhibition “Beautiful Creatures: Jewelry Inspired by the Animal Kingdom” at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.
She is also a two-time GEM Award winner, and was interviewed on JCK’s podcast, The Jewelry District, last year.
The 22nd annual GEM Awards will take place on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City.
