Lisa Bridge, 32, will become president and chief operating officer of Ben Bridge Jeweler, the 90-store chain founded by her great-great-grandfather.
In that role, she will oversee merchandising, operations, marketing, sales, and human resources.
She currently serves as the chain’s vice president of education. She will be the chain’s first female president, as well as its youngest executive in 60 years.
At the same time, current president and co-CEO Edward Bridge, Lisa’s father, will become chairman and sole CEO. Co-CEO and general counsel Jonathan Bridge is retiring.
Warren Buffett, chairman of Ben Bridge’s owner, Berkshire Hathaway, hailed Lisa Bridge in a statement.
“With the challenges facing retailing, I am excited to have someone passionate for the jewelry business, with creative ideas, and an understanding of today’s consumer at the helm,” he said. “Lisa has retailing in her blood and I am excited for the future with Lisa as president.”
Lisa Bridge graduated with honors from Washington University in St. Louis and attended the Gemological Institute of America. In 2015, she launched the Lisa Bridge Collection, which has become one of the chain’s fastest growing lines.
