JCK Las Vegas is the stuff of jewelry dreams: Aisle upon aisle of precious gemstones in every color, cases filled with gorgeous gold chains, displays dripping with dazzling diamond earrings, and anything else you’ve ever imagined inside your personal jewelry box come to life within the Venetian’s halls.
Just down the street, the Couture show adds edgy elegance with its selection of designers, each bringing fresh ideas and unexpected gemstones to the mix.
To honor the spectacular pieces I saw during JCK and Couture 2024, I’m offering a look at a few of my top highlights among them. The idea for this “jewelry bucket list” came from Lauren McCawley, president of luxury public relations firm Carbon West, who was at JCK representing fashion jewelry brand LaFonn.
McCawley tells me she keeps a running list of jewelry she loves that she plans to one day buy for herself or offer as gift ideas if somebody wants to pick up a piece for her. Some of the jewels on her list are everyday items to accent an outfit; others are one-of-a-kind works of art that McCawley knows she may never own but enjoys looking at from time to time.
With that kind of aspirational buying in mind, here is my JCK and Couture Jewelry Bucket List. What made finding these jewelry pieces I loved even more enjoyable was discussing the designs with the creators, media people, and, in some instances, manufacturers. I’m already looking forward to what I’ll see in 2025.
