Dubai-based jeweler La Marquise has opened its first boutique in Qatar, inside Doha’s Mandarin Oriental Hotel, showcasing its high jewelry and everyday collections in a space colored in soft blush hues with gold accents.
“We are thrilled to expand our reach and continue the partnership to enhance the experience for discerning clients in the region, making La Marquise’s exceptional jewelry accessible to even more customers,” says Nishith Shah, CEO of the company.
The Mandarin Oriental location was selected for its proximity to downtown and other key places in Doha such as the Museum of Islamic Art and Hamad International Airport, says Shah. La Marquise’s other stores are in Dubai, at the Palm Dubai hotel and the Dubai Hills Mall.
Qatari prime minister Sheikh Ahmed Abdulrahman al-Thani was among the guests at the grand opening of the Doha shop, which began welcoming customers July 3.
The boutique’s exterior features the La Marquise name in white alongside its brand symbol, a butterfly in flight. Gold framing around expansive windows indicates that guests are going to experience something precious and receive the best in customer service, Shah says.
Inside, a simple color palette of gold, cream, and blush pink complements the refined nature of La Marquise jewelry, Shah says. There are comfortable chairs where people can sit as they work on designing a custom piece. Display screens on the walls also show a variety of jewelry for clients to consider, from fashion-forward pieces to gemstone rings, earrings, and necklaces.
La Marquise uses minimalist-style cases—glass trimmed with gold—to give the jewelry as much space as possible to shine, Shah says. Lighting in the shop comes from sconces and a chandelier to ensure the mood is warm yet elegant, he adds.
The boutique sells both La Marquise’s high jewelry and its new and signature collections. Its latest arrivals include Luna, comprising white gold jewels with mother-of-pearl and diamonds, and Lumière, which features fancy- and fluted-cut diamonds.
La Marquise is known for its intricate designs, use of gemstones, and special-occasion jewelry, Shah says. But the boutiques also offer jewelry meant for everyday wear—as long as you like to to bring a touch of elegance to your everyday ensembles, he says.
The brand has focused on luxury hotels and major shopping malls for its locations to reach luxury-seeking customers who want jewelry that celebrates culture and quality craftsmanship, says Shah. La Marquise’s manufacturing facility in Dubai is also open to visitors, he says.
