Konstantino’s Ancient Greek Ethos

Brad Pitt, Rihanna, and Solange can’t be wrong, now can they? Not when it comes to fine jewelry. They are all fans of Konstantino, a line founded by Konstantino Sioulas in Athens, Greece, in 1994. It’s a collection that incorporates Byzantine architecture and the beauty of ancient Greek culture into its designs, such as pieces featuring iconic Greek figures. All of the pieces are handcrafted by skilled artisans in Greece.

“That’s the first sense you get when you look at my pieces,” Sioulas tells JCK. “The sense when you hold them and wear them is the soul that they have and the craftsmanship. That’s why I produce every piece in my workshop in Athens, Greece, with my master goldsmiths.”

Sioulas says he loves to work with silver and gold, bronze accents, and sometimes even leather.  As for stones? “Stones are like music—there is good and bad,” Sioulas says. “I try to use the stone that matches with my idea and focus only on the quality, yet there are some stones that are sexier than others!”

As for what the designer loves most about the business, Sioulas says he enjoys meeting the many beautiful people who wear his designs, natch. “And the dark room designing—the moment you print on a paper the results of your exhausted imagination,” he adds.

Konstantino jewelry is available worldwide at specialty stores and major retailers such as Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Nordstrom.
