Kendra Scott’s recently opened flagship store in Austin, Texas—the jewelry tycoon’s home base—is sweet in more ways than one.
The 3,118-square-foot store at 1701 South Congress Ave., a former private residence, includes Kendra Scott’s trademark Color Bar, valet parking, and party and event space that includes a roomy outdoor porch with seating and space for bands to play.
The location also debuts the brand’s first-ever café, Sips & Sweets, which serves up exactly that: coffee and beverages and a panoply of sweet treats (along with a few savory goodies such as veggie paninis and a chicken caesar salad).
The cute and cozy eatery evokes classic French bistros with its retro geometric-tile floor, quaint wicker bistro chairs, and countertop tower of multicolor macarons.
Scott’s signature style, which is famously feminine and impeccably put together, is certainly evident in the brand’s first foray into dining.
On the café’s millennial pink menu are little girl–grown-up sweets including tiny pies, opera cake, “fancy sugar cookies,” and Kringle by the slice (“Kendra’s childhood favorite!” reads its description).
The café’s goodies are sourced primarily from female-owned local bakeries, including Maggie Louise Confections, BellaSweet, Tiny Pies, and La Patisserie. Drinks include the full spate of coffee beverages, from Americanos to macchiatos (made with a custom blend from Texas Coffee Traders), and brunch-ready booze picks including prosecco, rosé, and Champagne. The café will soon debut high-tea service on the weekends.
The eatery also bulks up the brand’s “lifestyle” extensions, which already notably include home wares (see the store’s sleek Home section in the photo above).
“With Austin as our heart and home, I wanted to create something to honor our roots and our hometown community,” said Scott in a prepared statement. “What better way to celebrate that than with this unique flagship space tailored to Austin and its culture.”
The company hosted a grand-opening party on Nov. 16 that included live music, cocktails, and custom chain-stitched jewelry pouches with every purchase of $100 or more.
The store will host several events before the year’s end, including live music soirees on Saturdays, a pet portrait event, and a New Year’s Eve party with makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury.
