Rebecca Foerster, president of Hearts on Fire North America, has been elected chair of the board of directors of the Jewelers Vigilance Committee (JVC).
The group also elected Julie Yoakum, president of Helzberg Diamonds, as first vice president; Michael Richards, vice president and COO at Underwood Jewelers in Jacksonville, Fla., as second vice president; Mark Goldberg, chief financial officer of Rolex Watch USA, as treasurer and finance committee chair; and Lisa Wong Lackland, general counsel for Ben Bridge Jeweler, as secretary and legal action committee chair. Jenny Luker, Foerster’s predecessor as JVC board chair, now holds the office of past chair.
Foerster joined Hearts on Fire—one of the largest diamond jewelry brands, owned by Chinese conglomerate Chow Tai Fook—in May 2022, after her three-year tenure as president of Alrosa North America ended with the closure of Alrosa’s U.S. office.
She previously served as senior vice president of strategic planning and marketing for Leo Schachter Diamonds, and before that, she oversaw diamond sales and marketing as vice president for Rio Tinto’s U.S. office and was vice president of marketing at Frederick Goldman.
Foerster is a former president of Diamonds Do Good and currently serves on that organization’s executive committee as head of global partnerships.
