Here’s a peek at what could end up in print
This week is a super-busy one for me and Leah Rudolfo, JCK’s photo editor, because we’re shooting the cover of the March–April issue, some inside model shots, and still-life photography of silver jewels.
The cover for this month features the Jewelers’ Choice Award–winning piece, so that means I’m looking for jewels that will enhance the winner and really put it—not anything else—in the spotlight. You’ll have to wait until the issue hits your mailbox to find out exactly which company won and for which piece, but I can tell you that I’m pulling in delicate pink and white gold pieces that I feel will boost the winning look.

As for still life, our theme is silver, and Leah has selected a cool industrial-inspired set-up with fun props, the shapes and steel colors of which will marry well with the silver themes selected—bold pieces with cutouts, cuffs, and more. Plus, there’s one concept shot we’re doing for a final story that requires a lone emerald ring or diamond bracelet on a page, and I’m still shopping around for the right one.
