It’s all happening now—the holiday season, I mean. Retailers have probably been in this mindset for quite some time already, but to consumers, October is like the top of a waterfall—one step in and then it’s down, down, down, until we splash into December, finally coming up for air as we ring in the new year.
This final stretch of the year is so many things—enchanting, exciting, stress-inducing, head-spinning, wonderful. One moment you’re putting on your costume and the next you’re popping champagne, a pair of glasses that read “2025” across your face, nary a clue how they got there. All the while and in between those bigger moments and events, we get so busy planning everything from outfits to gifts, and jewelry, naturally, plays its vital part.
My inbox reflects this chaos, though that’s not to say the busyness isn’t a welcome thing. This month brought a wonderful variety from trending looks (hoop earrings, tennis jewelry, signet rings), and one of the most beloved birthstones, sapphire.
It was a mix of looking forward as well as looking back—the rich gold and gemmy colors of the coming season, combined with the remnants of summer, like a sunset bridging two parts of the year. It’s one of my favorite times of the year, and just as well, it’s been accompanied by some of my favorite recent jewels. All below.
