Boutique jewelry fair Jewels Basel announced this week that it will return for its third annual show in Basel, Switzerland, in April 2020. The intimate showcase will take place at the Wildt’sches Haus—the official villa for the government of Basel. The elegant and historic estate has played host to events for Chanel, Louis Vuitton, among others, in the past.
The show was founded by jewelry designer Nana Fink as a tiny affair at the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois in 2018 and has since grown to attract some big names. Those attending the Jewels Basel 2019 show included Robert Procop, Selim Mouzannar, Nana Fink, Shamballa Jewels, Colette, Eva Fehren, Dauphin, Carla Amorim, Monan, Giberg, and Head Genève.
Jewels Basel was conceptualized to showcase “carefully selected emerging jewelry designers, as well as leading global jewelry brands,” according to the website, as well as “a celebration of the finest craftsmanship, innovative design, and rarest and finest gems.”
The lineup for the 2020 show, which is scheduled for April 30–May 3, isn’t entirely complete, but Fink confirmed that Robert Procop, Selim Mouzannar, Nana Fink, and Carla Amorim will be returning, and that Dickson Yewn and Frédérique Berman will also showcase collections. The brands will fan out over six historic salons, a grand salon, and one very large catacomb inside the venue.
Its sponsors in 2019 were Dior and Staatskellerei Zürich, and partners included Les Trois Rois hotel (where the show was located), Range Rover, Emil Frey AG, and Confiserie Bachmann. Show events last year included two dinners—one sponsored by Credit Suisse and the other by Range Rover—along with a “ladies brunch” with “Basel’s high society” that was sponsored by private bank Globalance.
The Jewels Basel 2020 show will be open April 30, 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; May 1, 10 a.m.–7 p.m.; May 2, 10 a.m.–7 p.m.; and May 3, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
