Jewelers of America Says Artistry and Detail Won in Its 2022 CASE Awards

The winners of the annual CASE Awards are always dramatic pieces anyone would want to wear, but this year’s recipients also show off a wide array of materials, styles, and techniques, highlighting the talent and craftsmanship that are signatures of this award.

Awarded by the Jewelers of America, the CASE Awards serve as the JA’s national design competition and honor JA members for their creativity, artistry, style, and excellence in jewelry design, says Jewelers of America’s spokesperson Amanda Gizzi.

“The 2022 CASE Award winners had a fresh perspective mixed with artistry and attention to detail that made them stand out in the outstanding group of entries,” Gizzi says.

Martha Seely
The winner of the Supplier: Jewelry $2,001 to $5,000 category was Martha Seely Design, which received the award for its Solstice 2 earrings in 18k yellow gold with diamonds, spessartite, London blue topaz, citrine, amethyst, Swiss blue topaz, chrome diopside, tanzanite, pink tourmaline, and rhodolite garnet; $3,910.

This is the CASE Awards’ 32nd annual design competition. The awards are open only to employees of JA member companies. The winners in each category are determined by a panel of design experts, who look at each entry for its overall design, marketability, originality, and quality of manufacture. Winners receive a CASE Award trophy.

First-place winners were selected out of more than 140 entries in four categories, each of which was further grouped into JA retail members and JA supplier members: jewelry up to $2,000; $2,001 to $5,000; $5,001 to $10,000; and $10,001 to $50,000 retail values. One retail and one supplier entry were also named Best in Show.

Judges included Jeffery Bolling, Jeffery B. Jewelers; Brecken Branstrator, National Jeweler; Deirdre Featherstone, Featherstone Design; Amanda Gizzi, Jewelers of America; Jennifer Heebner, JenniferHeebner.com; and Adrianne Sanogo, Black in Jewelry Coalition and GIA graduate gemologist.

Rogers
For the Best in Show award for a retailer, Rogers Jewelry Co. won with its David Kirk–designed Snake dagger pendant in 14k white and yellow gold with a black jade inlay handle and featuring opal, amethyst, emerald, and ruby eyes; $4,900.
