In a promotion called Band Together, the company is inviting consumers to vote on which nonprofit organization will receive the largest share of the donation
As part of its Band Together campaign, Jewelers Mutual Insurance Co. will donate $2 million to charity this summer and is holding a contest for consumers to vote on which of three organizations will receive the most of the money.
Habitat for Humanity, Feeding America/Food Banks Canada, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital are the three eligible charities. The charity that receives the most votes will get $1 million; the second-most votes, $700,000, and the third-most votes, $300,000.
“Jewelers Mutual has a long legacy of supporting organizations that make lasting and positive changes in their communities,” said Scott Murphy, president and CEO of Jewelers Mutual in a statement. “But this year, we are pulling out all the stops and donating the biggest onetime gift in our history. Our business is thriving, and we’re committed to helping people in need thrive, as well.”
Voting is open July 11–July 31 at jewelersmutual.com/bandtogether. The winner will be announced Aug. 1.
Everyone who casts a vote will be eligible to win one of three stacking band sets from Stacked New York.
