Industry insurer Jewelers Mutual has appointed longtime Mastercard executive Dana J. Lorberg to its board of directors.
Now semiretired, Lorberg has worked at Mastercard International for more than 35 years, in technology, commercial, and financial roles. She helped build and operate Mastercard’s global payment network, taking on everything from writing code to leading commercial departments.
Lorberg, who is an advocate for women in STEM, said in a statement she hopes to use her position “to be a strong role model for women and for girls.”
“I have learned in life that once we achieve a seat at the table, we need to extend our hand to the next capable and talented person to sit with us,” she added.
Lorberg also sits on the boards of the St. Louis chapters of the American Red Cross and Girls Inc. and is a member of the Washington University in St. Louis national advisory council and the Masterclock advisory group.
