This year at Couture, design partners Jenny Klatt and Stephanie Wynne Lalin of New York City–based Jemma Wynne unveiled something completely different (for them at least): pearls. “We’ve always thought pearls were really beautiful and had wanted to use them, but we were waiting for what felt like the right time,” Klatt tells JCK. Turns out that that timing coincided with the introduction of silhouettes like open rings and ear cuffs this year, with pearls providing “the ideal juxtaposition and balance,” adds Klatt.
Most know that I can’t resist pearls (particularly Tahitians), and I love the climber, which has become an instant classic. The look is somewhat trendy because it’s new, but the materials are not, making the pair a modern look to love forever.
Ear climbers in 18k gold with Tahitian pearls and 0.21 ct. t.w. diamonds, $2,490
