I used to have a pair of white akoya pearl studs, but they’re long gone (truth be told, I lost them because my inner fashionista decided that they were too boring to wear). My go-to pearl earrings now are my 12–13 mm Tahitian pearl studs from Imperial, but they now might have some competition from these new Imperial beauties I’m eyeing. Enter Imperial’s front-to-back numbers in silver with freshwater pearls. The look is fun, unexpected, modern, and incredibly appealing for all of those reasons. Young pearl collectors will love them for their total contrast to mom’s simple white pearl studs (read: too classic for most twentysomethings), while luxury lovers may want to order them in the hard-to-resist luster that only akoyas can offer. No matter which variety you prefer, the look is guaranteed to be a winner for style and a ticket price that is twice as high as old-fashioned single-pearl studs.
