The event and educational lineup has been announced for the 2022 edition of the JCK show, which kicks off in just over a month in Las Vegas.
Swan Sit (pictured), the former global head of digital marketing at Nike, Estée Lauder, and Revlon and a creator with 3.5 million followers, is set to be the speaker at the JCK Opening Keynote, on Friday, June 10, at 8:30 a.m. PT. The presentation, titled “Web3 Is Coming—Navigating the Past, Present, and Future of Retail,” will lend insights on innovative platforms and technologies like Metaverse as Sit discusses the importance of strategy development for new audiences, including the best use of platforms for the next generation, community development on Web3, and what retail brands might look like in the Metaverse. The opening keynote, sponsored by Sarine, is open to all JCK and Luxury badge holders, though seating is limited.
“The 2022 edition marks JCK’s 30th Anniversary Show—we look forward to celebrating the jewelry industry that has united at JCK for three decades to launch trends, discover products, and continuously innovate,” said Sarin Bachmann, group vice president for RX Jewelry Group, in a statement. “We are thrilled to be able to bring back a robust educational program including a full day of JCK Talks programming on Thursday, an exciting opening keynote Friday morning, as well as education and breaking industry news on the show floor Showcase Stage and in JCK Talks rooms throughout the entire show. Building on the success of the past, we have lined up highly relevant and forward-thinking keynotes including a dive into the cutting edge of retail with Web3 and the Metaverse and a full slate of educational programming designed to enrich and energize the industry. At JCK, we provide a platform for inspiration and innovation, along with the tools and information you need to navigate the retail landscape today and what is on the horizon for tomorrow.”
In addition to the opening keynote, the JCK Talks educational program, sponsored by GIA, returns for 2022, with a lineup of sessions ranging in topic from retail strategy to trend forecasts. The program will open on Thursday, June 9—one day before the official opening of the JCK Show—with special sessions located in two Level 1 ballrooms. From June 10 to 12, JCK Talks sessions will be held on the Showcase Stage, with daily topics being covered from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Topics, which will be presented by a featured speaker alongside panel discussions, will include trends (in design, style, and consumer shopping); responsibility (responsible sourcing, sustainability, DEI); sales (team building, customer loyalty, storytelling conversion); relevance (NFTs and Web3, digital fraud prevention, happening now); retail innovation (technology, clienteling, in-store experience); and marketing (social media, video content creation, digital marketing).
In the 30th anniversary celebration of JCK Rocks, current and former cast members of the Broadway smash Hamilton—including the current Alexander Hamilton, Miguel Cervantes—will give an unforgettable performance of Hamilton—Remix, with iconic songs and fresh takes from the Tony Award–winning musical. The event will take place on Saturday, June 11, in the Palazzo Ballroom on level 5 of the Venetian hotel. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. for a networking reception, followed by the performance at 9 p.m. A 30th Anniversary After Party will follow, featuring a chance to meet the cast and network, as well as a DJ.
The Plumb Club will host a 30th anniversary cocktail party in its pavilion from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the day of the concert, with specialty cocktails, champagne, wine, cheese, cake, and light entertainment.
Finally, this year’s show will see the return of beloved annual events, including the Diamonds Do Good evening event, a breakfast presentation hosted by Rapaport, the Jewelers for Children Facets of Hope Awards Gala, and the Le Vian 23rd Red Carpet Revue: 2023 Trend Forecast & Fashion Show. The Plumb Club will also host its annual gala, by invitation-only, with dinner and the Katy Perry concert, on Friday, June 10.
“We are thrilled to be welcoming the entire industry back to celebrate 30 years together in true JCK style—with the events and education you look forward to and memorable moments created on and off the show floor,” said Bachmann in the same statement. “JCK is and continues to be the destination for order writing, inspiring education, networking, entertainment, socializing, and fun! In that spirit, the experience at JCK goes way beyond business—it’s personal, uniting a community that is shaping the future of the jewelry industry.”
