The 2020 JCK Las Vegas and Luxury shows will take place as scheduled, said a statement from show organizer Reed Exhibitions and the Reed Jewelry Group.
JCK Las Vegas, the largest jewelry trade show in the United States, will kick off on June 2 and run through June 5, with Global Gemstones, the Exchange, and JCK Talks opening on June 1. Sister show Luxury starts on May 31 and runs through June 5. Both are happening at the Sands Expo & Convention Center and Venetian Hotel.
Last week, fears of the coronavirus forced the cancellation of two Swiss fairs, Baselworld and Watches & Wonder Geneva (formerly SIHH). Both were scheduled to occur next month.
There are currently no federal restrictions on meetings and travel within the United States, and little indication that the U.S. trade show business has been hurt by the concern over COVID-19. “So far, virus fears aren’t hurting Boston’s convention business,” said a recent article in The Boston Globe.
The show’s full statement, attributed to Sarin Bachmann, group vice president, JCK and Luxury for the Reed Jewelry Group (which also owns JCKonline), can be seen below.

At this time of global concern, Reed Exhibitions and Reed Jewelry Group are closely monitoring developments related to the COVID-19 virus. Our hearts go out to everyone impacted. The jewelry industry is a tight-knit community, and the well-being of everyone at our JCK Events—from our attendees and exhibitors to our staff on-site at every show—is of the utmost importance to us.
JCK Las Vegas and Luxury are following the latest guidance from local, state, and national authorities as it relates to travel and participation in our events with the intention of keeping our exhibitors and attendees informed as they finalize plans for 2020. We are committed to implementing up-to-date best practices in accordance with public health guidance, including those issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We are working closely with the Sands Expo and the Venetian, who have indicated that their emergency management team is closely monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak at the global, U.S., and local level. They are closely following the guidance of the CDC and Southern Nevada Health District for local direction.
The jewelry industry is based on personal connections—and many rely on the important business relationships made during JCK Las Vegas and Luxury, one of the most anticipated annual jewelry buying experiences. We will continue to be proactive and take necessary precautions to facilitate an environment for the entire jewelry community to unite, make meaningful new connections, and discover new products and technology.
We will keep you up to date as we get closer to the show, and you can monitor our website for up-to-date information. The safety of our exhibitors, attendees, and staff is our number one priority.
