Vintage, vintage, vintage! That’s the theme this week, with two vintage shows happening (both in NYC) and a Bonhams auction in Paris. Plus: a fun Instagram contest that is asking the jewelry community to V-O-T-E.

New York City Jewelry & Watch Show: Oct. 24–27 (in person)

An annual highlight of the fall season, this show returns to Manhattan’s Metropolitan Pavilion with its usual roster of highly specialized antique, vintage, and estate jewelry sellers. Among them are several JCK editor favorites: Ashley Zhang, Camilla Dietz Bergeron, DeYoung Collection, Jewels by Grace, Mahnaz Collection, Stephen Russell, Wilson’s Estate Jewelry, and more.

Another show dedicated to vintage jewelry (and fashion and accessories) is also taking place in NYC’s Chelsea neighborhood. The one-day-only event will be the first edition of a recurring pop-up featuring a rotating roster of top-tier sellers specializing in every era. As recently reported by JCK’s Annie Davison Watson, this sale will showcase dazzling designs from the world’s most prestigious jewelry houses—think Cartier, Boucheron, Bulgari, Tiffany & Co. (including pieces by Jean Schlumberger), Van Cleef & Arpels, Buccellati, and Christian Dior. Among the 173 lots: a circa 1930 Cartier desk clock featuring a mother-of-pearl dial with diamond-set Roman numerals and a fan-shape hour hand in diamonds. The clock is encased in coral bands, outlined in black enamel, and perched elegantly on an onyx and gold base. It’s expected to sell for approximately $130,000–$200,000.

“Vote With Jewelry” Contest: Through Oct. 29 (online)

Robin Kramer, a trusted industry coach and mentor specializing in independent and emerging designers, is organizing a unique election-season contest that asks participants to spell out the world VOTE with pieces of jewelry. Configure the pieces to spell out the letters V-O-T-E and post a photo using the requested tags; the winner receives a free 90-minute coaching session with Kramer; two runners-up will each win 30-minute sessions.
