The Christie’s Magnificent Jewels sale in Geneva, arguably the grandest jewelry auction of the year, opens at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. Prepare for fireworks. Highlighted by the historic Marie-Antoinette Diamonds, a pair of bracelets that, against all odds, remained intact after the queen was imprisoned in the Tuileries Palace in January 1791, the sale also features the exceptional Duchess of Windsor ruby and diamond bracelet by Cartier, as well as a selection of extraordinary Kashmir sapphires, Burmese rubies, and Colombian emeralds.

WJA NY Metro In the Know Conference in New York City: Nov. 9, 6 p.m. ET (in person)

The In the Know Conference is back! WJA’s NY Metro chapter meets this Tuesday evening at the Cosmopolitan Club on East 66th Street to learn about “The Importance of Language in Latinidad.” Led by keynote speaker Jade Cintrón Báez, the networking session will focus on the nuances of race and identity in the Latino/a/x community, language usage, and how understanding these factors can help you listen and engage with clients and colleagues in a meaningful way. Members pay $75, $80 at the door.

Salon Art + Design Opens in New York City: Nov. 11–15 (in person)

Salon Art + Design is best known as a showcase for blue-chip 20th century art and the world’s best design—be it vintage, modern, or contemporary. At this year’s 10th-anniversary event at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City, fine jewelry will, for the first time, have a major presence. Among the more than 50 leading art and design galleries spotlighting collectible design trends, attendees will find the jewelry firms Macklowe GalleryOrnamentum GalleryDidier Ltd, Galerie Negropontes, and the Brazilian fine jewelry designer Silvia Furmanovich, who is planning to debut a special installation of her newest design collection: a bejeweled homage to the Amazon rainforest.
