Summer is in full swing! From a Pride meetup with WJA San Diego to a museum exhibition in Chicago, the events calendar is light this week. Jewelry designers, don’t miss the call for entries to JA’s CASE Awards, whose name stands for creativity, artistry, style and excellence. Let’s do this!

WJA San Diego She Fest Pride Meetup: July 13 at 12 p.m. PT (in person)

The San Diego chapter of the Women’s Jewelry Association (WJA) is hosting a Pride meetup event to support She Fest, an annual event that includes workshops, vendors, community organizations, performers, and community-building activities. All aspects of She Fest’s annual event center 2SLGBTQIA+ women, nonbinary people, and those who find community with these identities. The group will meet at the Hillcrest Pride Flag at 12 p.m. PT to wander the festival together. The event runs from 12 to 6 p.m.

Driehaus Museum Exhibition in Chicago: Through Sept. 22 (in person)

Chicago Collects: Jewelry in Perspective at Chicago’s Driehaus Museum features approximately 200 pieces of jewelry and objects collected by Chicagoans, many never displayed before in public. Highlights include a 19th-century jeweled monstrance, three magnificent tiaras, jewelry renderings by René Lalique and Anne Howe Geyer for Mauboussin, a large collection of medals of the French kings, the Cliff Dwellers Club famous punch bowl by Robert Jarvie, and much more. The exhibition runs through Sept. 22.

Deadline to Enter CASE Awards: July 17 (online)

Jewelers of America (JA) is accepting entries for its annual jewelry design competition, the CASE Awards. The awards honor JA members who exhibit creativity, artistry, style, and excellence in jewelry design. The competition is open to all employees of JA member retailers and suppliers. The deadline to submit entries online is July 17.
