Finally, a little downtime. The week ahead is the perfect opportunity to check a must-see exhibition off your list and catch up on podcasts you may have missed (best enjoyed at the beach!). Plus: a WJA get-together on L.A.’s west side.

You saw the Met Gala jewels—now you might finally have a moment to check out the Costume Institute exhibition it feted. The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” show features more than 200 garments and accessories spanning four centuries, all visually connected through themes of nature (watch this video for a preview). If you need inspiration—or an escape—this is surely the place to be.

jewelry district logoOn our latest podcast episode, JCK editor-in-chief Victoria Gomelsky and news director Rob Bates chat about celebrity watch collectors and then dig into the headlines everyone’s pondering (and possibly fretting about): new sanctions on Russian diamonds that the G7 is looking to put in place; leadership changes at Richemont; and the Saks–Neiman Marcus merger.

Rough Cut Podcast, Episode 9 (ongoing)

Rough CutJCK contributing editor Amy Elliott and Gem & Jewel editor-in-chief  (and beloved JCK editorial alum) Emili Vesilind reunite for a Rough Cut podcast episode à deux.
