PC podcasts JulyThe Plumb Club’s July podcasts are out. In “Making a Difference With Jewelry Design,” designer Robin Garin of Indigo Jewelry talks about how a jewelry retailer benefits from offering a customized design service, including the steps in the process and tips for making the experience easy and successful. In “Brand Training—Up Your Brand,” Rick Mulholland from Novell shows how having well-trained employees who effectively communicate a brand’s value can lead to increased customer satisfaction, repeat business, higher sales, and an enhanced reputation that attracts new customers.

Expanding Horizons,” the 14th annual Gold + Diamond Conference brought to you by Initiatives in Art and Culture (IAC), builds on the groundwork laid by “Maintaining Purpose,” the organization’s 2023 conference. This year, conference participants—including JCK’s own Rob Bates—consider how to effect positive change, and in particular the practicalities of so doing.

WJA Speed Mentoring in NYC: July 18, 5 p.m. ET (in person)

The Metro chapter of the Women’s Jewelry Association is holding a speed mentoring session at GIA headquarters on West 47th Street. Come and gain insight from industry experts, ask for advice, and bring your questions! The lineup of mentors includes Brandee Dallow, chief communications and sustainability officer at Grandview Klein Diamond; David Alan, designer and owner of David Alan Jewelry; David Nassi, founder and president of 100% Natural Ltd.; Rod Kosann, CEO of Monica Rich Kosann; and Yun Yang, creative director/head of merchandising at HRA Group.

“Immediate Connections” Exhibition in Bridgehampton, N.Y.: July 18–21 (in person)

A jewelry exhibit called “Immediate Connections,” featuring the work of Birabiro, Oblik Atelier, and MPR Jewelry, opens this week in Bridgehampton, N.Y., under the auspices of the Women’s Art Center of the Hamptons (WACH) and Bella Neyman, jewelry curator and founder of NYC Jewelry Week. Using the drawn line as the foundation for their creations, the three jewelers handcraft pieces with meticulous care. Their innovative use of wire showcases their ability to transform hard materials into soft, organic shapes.
