Jared The Galleria Of Jewelry is debuting a nationwide program that will allow customers to trade in their luxury watches for either cash or store credit, the retailer announced today.
The program is being run in conjunction with Crown & Caliber, an online marketplace for pre-owned timepieces.
The trade-in program offers Jared customers the chance to receive in-store credit, cash, or the opportunity to upgrade to a new watch, based on the quote provided by Crown & Caliber.
The trade-ins can be made at the Jared store or through the retailer’s website. The program works like this: The customer describes the watch and receives a quote from Crown & Caliber via email. If the quote is accepted, the customer then sends his or her watch to Crown & Caliber for inspection and authentication. Following this, the compensation is mailed to the guest.
Those selecting to receive the Jared in-store credit will be mailed a gift card for the trade value and an additional 20 percent valid at any Jared location. Luxury watch brands being considered include, but are not limited to: Rolex, Omega, TAG Heuer, Breitling, Cartier, Panerai, IWC, and Patek Philippe.
“We are very proud to have established a reputation as a trusted source for pre-owned luxury timepieces and thrilled to broaden our service offering through this partnership with Jared,” said Hamilton Powell, founder and CEO of Crown & Caliber, in a statement.
“Guests who are interested in trading in a pre-owned timepiece now have a convenient and trusted solution,” said Erik Miller, vice president of divisional operations, Jared The Galleria Of Jewelry, in a statement.
Crown & Caliber, based in Atlanta and established in 2013, first launched its retail trade-in program in January.
