Most football fans would be elated to own the game ball from a monumental win, and they can get at least a piece of one victorious pigskin through Jared Jewelers’ collaboration with Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff (pictured).
The two Jareds—Goff and the Signet-owned jewelry company—have designed a limited-edition ring made with part of the game ball from the Lions’ 26–20 overtime win against the Los Angeles Rams during the first week of the 2024 NFL season.
The 14k white gold men’s ring, which sells for $999 on the Jared website, features bands of blue epoxy—to represent the Lions’ beloved Honolulu blue team color—and a wider center band of game-ball leather. The ring also has Goff’s signature engraved on the inside.
“Detroit’s 2023 season was unbelievable, so the opening game of 2024 meant a lot to me and my teammates,” the quarterback said in a statement. “The ball from our first win of 2024 represents so much—excitement, drive, grit—and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out in the ring.”
The Goff ring is part of the jewelry company’s Rare Bond program, available at all Jared locations, offering customization and highly distinctive materials in men’s rings.
“We first started working with Jared Goff last season, and he’s been an absolute pleasure to collaborate with. He loves his team, fans, and community,” says Jared president Claudia Cividino. “It’s been fun to work closely with him in designing his game-ball ring using our Rare Bond customization capability.”
Jared announced its team-up with Goff in February, after Lions fans had adopted the jeweler’s old tagline “He went to Jared” (which the company used from 2001 to 2018) throughout the 2023–2024 season, when the Lions shocked everybody by winning their first-ever NFC North title.
To kick off their collaboration, Goff and Jared gave every Lions offensive lineman a Breitling Super Chronomat. Each watch came in a personalized box that Goff signed and showed off during a Las Vegas media tour over Super Bowl weekend.
Detroit wasn’t in the Super Bowl—the Lions lost their chance to go in a playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers, making last season bittersweet for the team and its fans. One of the losingest teams in the NFL, the Lions had been breaking hearts all over Michigan for decades, but in 2023 they won a franchise-record 12 regular-season games, for only the second time in their history (the first was 1991).
This season, fans are once again feeling like the lovable Lions have a shot at football greatness. The team has won seven games in a row, and its 2024 season record currently stands at 8–1. Of course, Lions fans are elated to have a team that wins…well, anything (full disclosure: this writer lives in Metro Detroit and has attended at least one Lions game this season; my hearing is still damaged from the crowd’s massive enthusiasm).
If you want to see Goff in action, the Detroit Lions—who are in first place in the NFC North—play the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday, Nov. 17, and the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving Day. Both games start at 1 p.m. Eastern time.
