Gemologist, freelance journalist, and jewelry influencer Katerina Perez maintains one of the most glamorous Instagram pages in the industry.
The Russian-born London resident uses the platform to share what she loves in jewelry, but also to report on top-shelf design and new collections from jewelry trade events all over the world, including JCK Las Vegas and Paris’ Haute Couture week.
The result is a running chronicle of new and beautifully curated high-end jewelry that’s pure eye candy.

Color Theory
Diamonds are dazzling, but colored gemstones often stand out more on social media. Perez’s picks often include brightly hued gems, which she showcases in shots that are crystal clear and photographed at close range.
Discovery Channel
Followers are treated to regular “look what I found!” moments on Perez’s feed, which makes following the influencer exciting and fun. The posts also showcase her active involvement in jewelry design and industry events, which lends her credibility.
Sparkle in Motion
Perez enlivens her feed with short video clips of jewelry pieces—usually being slowly rotated in good light to show off their angles or sparkle. The clips are brief enough to keep users on the feed (too long and you’ll lose them!), but beefier than Boomerang clips, which are great for showcasing jewelry, but sometimes not long enough to give a quality preview of a complicated piece.
Back Talk
Perez’s feed isn’t just a billboard for beautiful jewelry. The gemologist invites her followers to chat and ask her questions about jewelry in posts. And, even more importantly, she writes back to commenters on many posts. That regular engagement is undoubtedly a prime reason why Perez has such a sizable following.
