In further news about Instagram not being dead—at least for many businesses on the app—the platform recently announced a new tool for its creators and business users located in its Professional Dashboard.
“What if a business doesn’t know what to post on Instagram?” the Instagram Business Team asked in a recent announcement on its business blog. While there are countless strategies and ways to get inspired, a new hub in the Professional Dashboard collects content from other businesses in hopes of sparking creativity for other users.
The curated section can be accessed by business accounts only, via the Professional Dashboard at the top of their Instagram profiles. Located within the Stay Informed section is a guide called “See How Other Businesses Connect With People,” which will lead users to a series of posts by similar businesses to help them get started.
I was glad to see that the posts are tailored to users’ interests (I was expecting something more generic). As you can see from my screenshot, when I accessed this new section under the JCK magazine Instagram account (@jckmagazine), the results were chock-full of jewelry posts.
The posts are divided into two sections: “See How Other Businesses Connect With People”—organic posts—and “See How Other Businesses Are Growing”—paid promotions. Both feature rich imagery that could inspire a user, but I also found it helpful for discovering new accounts to follow and engage with.
For those just looking to get started, these potentially influential accounts offer a fantastic jumping-off point for getting in there and conversing, sharing news of your brand, and building relationships on the ’Gram. Instagram makes it easy to discover new accounts to follow through its basic design, but having another avenue is always welcome.
“This new way of surfacing quality content is part of Instagram’s ongoing commitment to build a suite of solutions to help businesses of all sizes unlock their potential,” the Instagram Business Team stated in its blog.
