An Evanston, Ill., jeweler’s hands were bound during an armed robbery April 26.
According to an Evanston Police department press release, a man entered Diadem Jewelers at 11:15 a.m. He displayed a handgun and announced a robbery. The suspect used flexible plastic binding to secure the jeweler’s hands.
The suspect removed an undetermined amount of jewelry from display cases, put the items into a gym bag and backpack, and fled the store.
According to police reports, a passing citizen noticed the jeweler still bound in the store a short while later and notified police.
Evanston police obtained video surveillance and continue an investigation.
