Jennifer Meyer and Irene Neuwirth, two jewelry designers with robust celebrity followings, made The Hollywood Reporter’s annual Top 20 Red Carpet Designers rundown, which the media outlet released yesterday.
The list, which features red-carpet fashion staples including Dior, Altuzzara, Calvin Klein, Chanel, and Armani, calls out Neuwirth’s triumphant Oscar moment when actress Ruth Negga donned her 146.16 ct. Mozambique ruby tiara—a collaboration with Gemfields and Negga’s stylist Karla Welch.
Meyer, formerly more famous for her “daily gold” designs (favored by her coterie of high-profile friends, a group that includes Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Aniston) than for dazzling red carpet pieces, is lauded by the mag for racking up an impressive 151 celebrity placements this year so far.

Meyer’s custom pink sapphire jewelry for This Is Us star Mandy Moore at the Emmys this past week—a collaboration with stylist Erica Cloud—certainly entitled her to a place on the list.
Who would we put on an all-jewelry list of 2017’s top red carpet designers? Lorraine Schwartz, Nirav Modi, Tiffany & Co., Fred Leighton, Neil Lane, and Harry Winston, to start with.
