Watch blog Hodinkee is expanding its editorial roster by hiring five new editors, who started at the watch site on Aug. 22.
The news comes in the wake of its former editor-in-chief, Jack Forster, leaving for WatchBox. Hodinkee says it has no “immediate plans” to replace Forster in the editor-in-chief role. Senior vice president of content Nick Marino currently oversees the newsroom.
Among the new hires:
– Anthony Traina (top), the Chicago-based founder of Rescapement, a weekly newsletter offering stories and opinion on modern and vintage watches, joins the site as editor. (Rescapement will cease publishing.)
– Brandon Menancio (below), a California-based freelancer who has made several videos for Hodinkee, will serve as on-screen talent across several platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and on Hodinkee.com.
– Malaika Crawford (below), the former watch and jewelry editor of Highsnobiety, is the site’s first-ever style editor.
-Mark Kauzlarich (below), a photographer and feature writer for Hodinkee.com and its Vol. 10 magazine, is also an editor.
– Sarah Miller, a contributor to The New York Times and The New Yorker, has joined as senior writer. She is the author of the popular Hodinkee column, A Complete Newbie, where she chronicles her first-time experiences trying high-end watches.
The new hires bring Hodinkee’s editorial team to close to 20. Founded in 2008 as a watch blog, its offerings include a biannual print magazine, digital, and video content.
