Heritage Auctions will hold its Spring Fine Jewelry Signature Auction on May 5 in Dallas. The 505-lot sale includes a wide selection of colored gemstones, jewels incorporating nature themes, and designs from notable makers.
Leading the auction, with an estimate between $300,000 and $400,000, is a 14.14 ct. fancy intense yellow diamond (pictured at top), set in an 18k gold ring and accented by 2.1 cts. t.w. trillion-cut diamonds. Another top lot also features a large yellow diamond, weighing 11.67 ct. It is set in a platinum and 14k gold ring, flanked by calf’s head–cut diamonds of 2 cts. t.w., and estimated at $200,000–$300,000.

Other colored gemstones on the block include a 13.22 ct. Ceylon sapphire (above), a 5.04 ct. cushion-shape Burma ruby, and several Colombian emeralds, among them a 3.65 ct. pear-shape in a Cartier ring with diamonds (below). One unique ring features an 8.42 ct. emerald with small diamond-set bees on its sides.

That ring and numerous other pieces in the sale draw inspiration from nature, a nod to the spring season. Among the floral and animal jewels on offer are a pair of pansy earrings by JAR and a limited-edition Rabbit Waiter brooch by Scott West for Raymond Yard, which incorporates Argyle pink diamonds.

“It’s hard not to fall in love with this sale’s wide array of critters, especially the Rabbit Waiter,” said Jill Burgum, Heritage’s executive director of fine jewelry, in a statement. “It’s a true testament to Raymond Yard’s legacy of luxurious and imaginative jewelry.”

Significant colorless diamonds are also part of the auction, notably an 8.1 ct. emerald-cut in a ring by Tiffany & Co. (below) and an oval 10.16-carater, estimated at $80,000 to $100,000. Heritage is also presenting watches and hardware-inspired jewelry from Tiffany & Co.’s HardWear collection and Cartier’s Juste un Clou line in the sale.
